Professional experience
Tim Tesdorff began his career in 2015 in the audit practice of KPMG in Hamburg. In addition to group and statutory audits under HGB and IFRS, he supported a range of capital markets transactions, including IPOs, bond issuances, the audit of profit forecasts and carve-out engagements. He progressed from Dual Student to Assistant Manager during his tenure.
In 2021, he joined PwC Zurich’s Deals practice. Over the following years, he contributed to 47 financial due diligence engagements, primarily on the buy-side, including numerous cross-border transactions involving Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States. He was promoted to Manager / Prokurist in 2023.
At the beginning of 2025, he left PwC to focus on his doctoral research and to establish ttesdorff Diligence GmbH, integrating his financial and accounting background with a focus on corporate governance and strategic communication.
Academic experience
University of St.Gallen: Ph.D. Candidate Management (since 2023) conducting research on Corporate Governance in American, Chinese and German corporations, analysing approx. 3,000 CEO letters to shareholders.
Bocconi University: M.Sc. Accounting, Financial Management and Control (2019-21) with a thesis on strategies, management and remuneration systems of DAX firms. Graduate exchange in the MIB program at Smith School of Business at Queen's University, Canada.
Hamburg School of Business Administration: B.Sc. Business Administration (2015-18) with a thesis on combined and carve-out financial statements. Cooperative study program with KPMG.
